For the third straight day, more than 4,000 early votes were cast in Duval County on Wednesday, and the overall trend continues Democratic, as the GOP advantage in absentee ballots continues to erode.
In total, 4,268 votes were cast Wednesday across Duval County, for a total of 13,250 votes during the three-day period. The leading locations are Highlands and Regency, both with well more than 1,000 votes cast. South Mandarin and Webb-Wesconnett are not far behind that number.
In addition to those numbers, 33,241 votes by mail have already been received.
As of 8:50 a.m. Thursday, 21,343 Republicans, 19,756 Democrats, and 5,487 NPA voters had voted. Expect the Democrats to continue closing the gap, which is quickly approaching 1,500 votes, throughout the day and the week. Friday is a big day to watch, because national entertainer Tom Joyner comes to town to stump for Alvin Brown near the Gateway voting site on the Northside.
