Hillary Rodham Clinton is coming to the Sunshine State for four fundraisers next week.
As reported by Politico‘s Mark Caputo, the former Secretary of State will attend two fundraising events in Miami on May 28, and two more the following day May 29. One event will be in the Fort Lauderdale area, and the other will take place at the Heathrow home of famed attorney/Democratic Party fundraiser/medical marijuana supporter John Morgan near Orlando.
The Florida trip will be Clinton’s first since officially becoming a candidate for the Democratic nomination for president last month. But it won’t be the first fundraisers held on her behalf. Last month, a campaign fundraising event was held at the home of Hillsborough County Clerk of the Circuit Court Pat Frank, where the minimum contribution was $250.
Caputo reports that the fundraiser invitations show that attendance for each costs $2,700 a person. Event co-hosts must raise $27,000 and event hosts must raise $50,000, which both include “host reception with Hillary and membership in Hillstarters program.”
Clinton’s only declared opponent in the Democratic primary to date is Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley plans to announce this month his intentions on entering the race.
