Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera makes $124,000 a year. Friday afternoon, the Florida Democratic Party posed a question: What has CLC done lately to earn six figures?
Monday, he “toured” Florida’s Department of Revenue.
Tuesday, he wore out his hands, according to the Florida Democrats, applauding “at Rick Scott‘s Republican presidential campaign pageant in Orlando.”
But he didn’t slow down!
Wednesday was huge, too: CLC swung through Gainesville, for an Alachua County Republican Party fundraiser.
Straight cash, homie.
That must have worn him out: On Thursday, he appeared to have done “just about nothing.”
The email blast served two purpose. The first: to remind Florida of the utterly vestigial role the office of lieutenant governor plays. The second: to cast aspersions on Lopez-Cantera’s senatorial aspirations.
“If this is the best Florida’s Republican establishment can find to run against Tea Party radical Ron DeSantis, it’s no wonder they are panicking. After all, Lopez-Cantera wasn’t even his even his own Super PAC’s first choice for U.S. Senate,” claimed the email, which described CLC’s work schedule as sounding “exactly like an career establishment politician.”
Great shade for a sunny and hot Friday afternoon in the Sunshine State.
