The Jacksonville mayoral transition continues apace, as Mayor-elect Lenny Curry has announced the subcommittee members for each of the committees.
“I am pleased that such a talented and diverse cross-section of civic leaders has assembled for this important work,” Curry said in a prepared statement. “These committee members and chairs are bringing together vast amounts of expertise to ensure my administration is successful. I am grateful for their service.”
Some interesting names abound on all of the subcommittees.
Mike Field and Jon McGowan are two that stand out on Streamlining Growth and Opportunity.
Former At Large Council candidate Ju’Coby Pittman has a role on the Operations, HR, and Productivity subcommittee.
Former mayoral candidate Omega Allen, along with former Alvin Brown staff member Abel Harding and the Jacksonville Civic Council’s Jeanne Miller, are on the Economic Development subcommittee.
DCPS Superintendent Nikolai Vitti and former School Board member W.C. Gentry are just two of the names on Prevention, Intervention, and At-Risk Youth.
A Safer Jacksonville includes Kevin Gay of Operation New Hope, along with Ty Petway.
Former City Councilman Jack Webb shows up on the Fiscal Responsibility subcommittee.
