The man who chaired the Duval GOP to resounding electoral success in the just concluded campaign will be an integral part of the Lenny Curry administration. The Jacksonville mayor announced on Friday that he has appointed Robin Lumb as his Director of Policy at a salary of $92K per annum.
Lumb – a former At-Large Jacksonville City Councilman – will report to newly appointed Chief of Staff Kerri Stewart.
Stewart described Lumb as part of an “executive leadership team that represents” the mayor’s “unwavering commitment to excellence and to providing the finest service to the people of Jacksonville. Robin sees the big picture and still understands the myriad of details and requirements of public policy,” Stewart added.
Lumb’s role will be to “advise, research and implement mayoral initiatives,” according to the release. He will be instrumental in pushing both short and long-term priorities forward.
Lumb has already resigned his position as Duval Republican Executive Committee chair to take this position.
There were whispers, some weeks back, that Lumb had wanted the Chief of Staff position. Whatever drama there might have been related to that appears to now be a historical footnote.
