For Tally speech, Jeb Bush releases two videos on tackling “Mount Washington”

Jeb Bush

Prior to a major policy speech in “Mount Tallahassee” on Monday, Jeb Bush released two online videos revealing his strengths for tackling “Mount Washington.”

“Mount Tallahassee” was a term often used by the former two-term governor and current presidential candidate to describe how the Florida Capitol was entrenched and disconnected from voters.

First reported by Gary Fineout of the Associated Press, the campaign released the pair of online clips Sunday on both YouTube and the Jeb!2016 website.

On Monday, Bush will deliver a speech at the Augustus B. Turnbull Center.

In the 20-second video – “888” — touts Bush’s record during eight years as governor, where he rejected the Tallahassee establishment, while bringing in “8 balanced budgets, 8 years of tax cuts, and 8 billion in new reserves.”

For “13K,” Bush also promotes how he helped Tallahassee and the entire State of Florida by cutting state bureaucracy by 11 percent, by cutting 13,000 state government workers.

According to the website, Bush says he will be a president who will not defer to the settled ways of “Mount Washington,” filled with overspending, overreaching, arrogance and sheer incompetence.

“It begins with taking on Mount Washington and reforming the way D.C. works,” Bush’s campaign said in an email to reporters. The speech will discuss “putting America’s financial house in order and why that requires a president willing to challenge the culture of our nation’s capital.”

This will be Bush’s first Tallahassee visit since announcing his presidential bid June. His last trip to the Florida Capitol was in February, for an education summit and fundraising run.
