Amazon adds 2,000 new jobs at its 2 Florida centers

Rick Scott

Gov. Rick Scott on Monday said Amazon.com Inc. will add 2,000 new jobs at its fulfillment centers in Lakeland and Ruskin. Amazon’s fulfillment centers already employ more than 2,000 Floridians.

Scott said, “I am excited to announce that Amazon is expanding in Florida and adding more than 2,000 new jobs, which will more than double their current Florida workforce in less than a year. We have worked hard to create a pro-business environment that encourages growth and innovation so companies like Amazon can succeed.”

Most of the positions will be for fulfillment associates. Fulfillment associates pick customer orders on all levels of a multilevel mezzanine, pack and ship orders, and troubleshoot problems to resolution. The positions come with a full benefits package.
