Former Orange County School Board member Rick Roach has received the endorsement from the Brevard Teachers Federation in his bid for state Senate District 13
In an email to supporters Roach wrote:
“The Brevard Federation of Teachers and their 5,000 educators unanimously endorsed us a full year early. Former Florida School Board Association Executive Director and icon Wayne Blanton endorsed me and I will let Florida’s school board members and superintendents know this in a big way”
Roach also announced a fundraiser next week, that he’s raised $42,000 for the campaign, but that he’ll likely need more with former State Rep. Linda Stewart expected to join the contest to replace term-limited Senate President Andy Gardiner.
On the Republican side, Realtor Dean Asher, and retired contractor Chuck Sheridan have filed to run. Gardiner’s wife, Camille, has also expressed interest in running for the district that consists of parts of Orange and Brevard counties.
