Corrine Brown, Lenny Curry quiet on their Tuesday confab

Shortly before the press conference Tuesday where Corrine Brown claimed her political enemies are “trying to burn the courthouse down” in an effort to “destroy” the 5th Congressional District of Florida, Brown had a meeting in Jacksonville City Hall with Mayor Lenny Curry.

Did they discuss the redistricting controversy? If they did, neither are saying.

“There were a wide variety of issues discussed. It’s all about relationship building and that’s what this meeting was about,” Curry said.

What kind of relationship was built? According to David Simon, spokesman for Brown, it’s a pragmatic one.

Simon reports that Congresswoman Brown thought the meeting went well: among the issues discussed, the “city budget, programs to prevent youth violence, JaxPort, and Shands Hospital.”

Congresswoman Brown supported then-Mayor Alvin Brown through the May election, so #jaxpol watchers are curious how the relationship between Curry and her is progressing.
