Longtime Vern Buchanan staff member joins David Jolly campaign as political director

David Jolly

Congressman Vern Buchanan is losing Deputy Chief Of Staff Max Goodman, who is leaving for a role as political director with U.S. Rep. David Jolly’s Senate campaign.

Goodman made the announcement in an email obtained by Florida Politics. Based in D.C., he has worked with the Sarasota Republican since his first election in 2006, becoming full-time communications director in 2010 and senior aide in 2012.

“It’s wild to think that 10 years ago I took the drive from Baltimore to Sarasota to start this journey with Congressman Buchanan,” Goodman said. “I’ll be heading to Florida once again, this time to join Congressman Jolly’s Senate campaign … keep the good times rolling.”

Goodman told the Sarasota Herald-Tribune that it was a privilege to work with Buchanan, whom he calls a “get-it-done congressman” and “leader who listens and learns from the people he serves.”
