Pamela Epting, a veteran state worker, was appointed deputy commissioner of the Florida Office of Financial Regulation, the office said in a news release Wednesday.
Epting will be second in charge under Commissioner Drew Breakspear. He reports to Florida CFO Jeff Atwater and is the state’s watchdog for the financial industry.
Epting has been with the state since 1986, most recently as director of OFR’s Division of Securities.
She has been actively involved in the North American Securities Administrators Association since 1994, and has been a speaker at various training programs at the state and national levels.
Epting holds a degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance from Stetson University.
“The OFR is committed to smart, efficient and effective regulation of the Florida financial services industry,” Breakspear said in a prepared statement. “I am confident that she will continue to excel in this new role.”
