Former House Speaker Will Weatherford announced Friday his endorsement of state House candidate Jason Fischer.
“Jason Fischer is exactly the kind of principled conservative leader that Jacksonville needs,” Weatherford said. “I am proud to support Jason as the next representative from District 16 because I know he will be a strong voice for the conservative reforms our state needs to continue being the best place to live, work and raise a family.”
“It’s an honor to have Speaker Weatherford’s support in this campaign to bring common sense conservative solutions to Tallahassee,” Fischer said. “Speaker Weatherford was a principled conservative reformer when he led the House and his exemplary leadership is a model for all conservatives to follow.”
Fischer is running for House District 16, which covers Mandarin, Baymeadows and most of southeast Duval County. He is a Jacksonville native, a graduate of the University of North Florida, and lives in Mandarin.
In November 2012, Fischer was elected as the youngest member of the Duval County School Board, a position he still holds. He leads business development in the Jacksonville metropolitan area for URETEK Holdings.
