In an email Thursday to city employees, Jacksonville mayor Lenny Curry took stock of his administration thus far.
“Today marks my 100th day as Mayor of the City of Jacksonville, and I could not be more proud to lead and serve with you. These past few months have been filled with changes, successes, and challenges, but more importantly, this time has been marked with progress,” Curry wrote.
Accomplishments, according to Curry, include “a balanced budget,” reinstatement of the Jacksonville Journey youth-crime prevention program; and “addressing disparities that exist in communities such as Eureka Garden Apartments.”
Adding that the “spirit of ‘One City. One Jacksonville’ is gaining momentum due in large part to your service,” Curry goes on to thank employees, then says that “I do not expect the next four years to be absent of hurdles, but I am confident that together we will overcome those obstacles and make positive, meaningful contributions to this community.”

He should issue a special letter to Sam Newby for securing his 5000 vote victory.
