Ron DeSantis

In a crowded race for the GOP nomination to replace Senator Marco Rubio, Ponte Vedra Congressman Ron DeSantis asserted in a Wednesday morning email that “pro-DeSantis entities” raised “nearly $2 million” in the third quarter of 2015, and that the campaign itself has almost $2.5 million on hand as it starts the fourth quarter of the year.

The campaign raised $750,000 in the third quarter.

A “Super PAC” supporting DeSantis, the alliterative Fighting for Florida Fund, secured $1.2 million in donations as of September 30, reports the Tampa Bay Times.

And in the email, DeSantis asserts that the future is bright for a “conservative reformer” like him, saying that “the campaign is in a great position to grow our financial support over the next few months.”
