Capital City Consulting, consistently ranking as one of top four governmental affairs firms in Florida, maintained its position during the third quarter of this year, collecting about $1,656,000 between July and the end of September, according to recently filed state lobbying compensation reports.
Among CCC’s most substantial accounts were health insurance company Aetna, which paid an estimated $50,000 for services rendered last quarter, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (~$40,000), and the patriotic trio of American Bankers Insurance Group, American Insurance Association, and American Traffic Solutions (~$30,000 each).
Big-spending legislative clients who contributed between $20,000-$29,999 for representation last quarter include CIGNA, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing, The Everglades Foundation, Florida Association of Health Plans, and Citigroup.
Other significant clients retaining Capital City Consulting’s services were telecoms giant AT&T, CVS Health, Delta Air Lines, Visa, Citibank, and Office Depot.
The firm also boasts a solid portfolio of clients in the higher education sector by representing the New College Foundation, Florida International University Foundation, University of South Florida Student Government Association, and Florida Keys Community College Education Foundation.
Combined, the firm’s 93 legislative branch clients accounted for an estimated $1,226,000 in Q3 earnings. while its executive branch clients added another $430,000.
Led by co-founders Nick Iarossi, Ron LaFace, and Gerald Wester, Capital City Consulting’s team of influencers includes Jennifer Gaviria, Kenneth Granger, Ashley Kalifeh, and Christopher Schoonover, as well as the recently hired Scott Ross.
State law requires lobbying firms to submit compensation reports quarterly. They are permitted in most cases to simply report an approximate range of client compensation — e.g., $1-$9,999 — instead of the specific dollar amount.
