South Florida mansion hits market for $159 million

Le Palais Royal

In the market for a beachfront mansion in South Florida?

An 11-bedroom home with 22-carat gold leaf-coated balconies, fountains, gates and doors has hit the market for $159 million. Called Le Palais Royal, the Hillsboro Beach home is modeled after the French royal palace Versailles.

The Miami Herald reports the 60,000-square-foot home is still under construction, but almost complete. The owner, construction magnate Robert Pereira, is building two guesthouses, a pool and an “underground entertainment complex” that includes an ice skating rink, go-cart track, bowling alley and night club.

The home north of Fort Lauderdale has a 30-car garage, his and hers yacht docks and features a beach only accessible to the public by boat.

The listing agent is Mayi de la Vega of One Sotheby’s International Realty.
