Following an impressive performance at the Sunshine Summit in Orlando over the weekend, the Senate campaign for Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera announced the endorsements of several Southwest Florida and Tampa area state legislators Wednesday:
- Senate Majority Leader Bill Galvano of Bradenton
- State Rep. Ben Albritton of Bartow
- State Rep. Jim Boyd of Bradenton
- State Rep. Dane Eagle of Cape Coral
- State Rep. Heather Fitzenhagen of Fort Myers
- State Rep. Julio Gonzalez of Port Charlotte
- State Rep. Kathleen Passidomo of Naples
- State Rep. Ken Roberson of Port Charlotte
“I am honored by the support of our Southwest Florida and Tampa area legislators,” Lopez-Cantera said. “Working together, we cut through government bureaucracy to bring more jobs, less taxes, less government and more freedom to Florida. We will continue to work together across the state to focus on bringing Florida’s proven record of these conservative principles to the U.S. Senate.”
“I’m backing Carlos because I saw how passionately he fought for and delivered property tax reductions to Florida seniors, how he championed cutting regulations to restore jobs, and how he cut Florida’s taxes and debt while balancing the budget. After serving with him in the house I saw firsthand how Carlos Lopez-Cantera is the kind of principled, conservative leader the people of Florida need in Washington, D.C., now more than ever,” Galvano said.
“Lt. Gov. Lopez-Cantera’s leadership is both experienced and invigorating, a perfect reflection of the State he represents. Under Lopez-Cantera’s leadership we have seen both a cultural and business renaissance in Florida,” Fitzenhagen said.
“It is my extreme pleasure and honor to add my endorsement for Carlos Lopez-Cantera for U.S. Senate. He has been a great mentor to me, and I feel his abilities will serve Florida well in the U.S. Senate. His knowledge of the state and his commitment to the security and safety of Floridians is needed in Washington, D.C.,” Pilon said.
“I’ve seen Carlos in action as a legislator and as our lieutenant governor, and he has never failed to impress me,” Eagle said. His common-sense, conservative approach to Florida government is exactly what we need to help fix Washington.”
Lopez-Cantera continues to build an extensive coalition across the state as he meets with Floridians ready to elect a proven conservative to the U.S. Senate. The complete list of his endorsements here.
