The Tampa Bay Partnership said Thursday that one of U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio’s top staffers will join the group as its new vice president for public policy and advocacy after the New Year.
Ryan Patmintra works as a regional director for Rubio and has also worked as the communications director for Arizona Republican Sen. Jon Kyl. In his new role, Patmintra will take the lead in advancing the group’s legislative agenda at the state and federal levels.
“Ryan is an accomplished political professional who can hit the ground running and immediately contribute to our success,” said Rick Homans, president and CEO of the Tampa Bay Partnership. “As Senator Rubio’s regional representative, he’s built strong relationships with our local, state and federal elected officials, as well as Tampa Bay business leaders. He understands the issues affecting our community, and is uniquely positioned to address them in both Tallahassee and Washington, D.C.”
Patmintra is the third major hire announced by the regional marketing group since Homans took over as CEO in early November. The Tampa Bay Partnership has also announced the hiring of Dave Sobush as its research director and Jennifer Mikosky as its new vice president of strategic communications.
“Our success will be determined in large part by the quality of our staff,” Homans said, “and a major component of reinventing the Tampa Bay Partnership will be the exceptional talent we’ve hired for these key positions.”
Sobush worked for the partnership from 2010 to 2013 and Mikosky previously worked under Homans in a similar role at the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation.
