Influential retailers lobby Florida Retail Federation announced Monday it has named a new President and CEO, promoting Randy Miller from the position of Executive Vice President.
Miller also assumes the helm at sister organization Georgia Retail Association, where he was also a senior executive. Longtime FRF staffers Samantha Hunter Padgett and Melissa Joiner Ramba – wife of well-known Tallahassee lobbyist David Ramba – also received promotions as Miller takes over for the outgoing Rick McAllister, who retired last month.
“I’m excited to be able to lead a respected and influential organization that advocates for such a diverse membership, and for an industry whose success plays a crucial role in the overall success of our state,” said Miller in a release. “I’m looking forward to continuing the momentum and significant impact FRF made under Rick McAllister and strengthening our organization as the premier voice for retailing in Florida.”
The FRF said Monday Miller has been with the organization since 2004. Before that, he served as Executive Director of the Florida Department of Revenue among other legal and governmental consultant posts.
Joiner Ramba and Padgett will now serve as Vice President of Government Affairs and Vice President & General Counsel, respectively, for both the Florida and Georgia associations.
The FRF is backing Gov. Rick Scott‘s pledge to slash taxes by some $1 billion among other industry priorities next Session, which begins January 12.
