Carlos Lopez-Cantera condemns as “dangerous game” Barack Obama’s Iran policy

On Monday, Carlos Lopez-Cantera reacted to the Obama Administration’s prisoner swap with Iran and sanctions relief, which he condemned as “freeing up over 100 billion dollars for the terrorist regime of Iran.”

“I am thankful Americans are coming home, but it is important to address the dangerous game the Obama Administration is playing with our nation’s foreign policy. Negotiating with terrorists should not be the policy of the United States, but it has become so under President Obama,” the Senate candidate said.

A big issue for Lopez-Cantera: “The United States is awarding $1.7 billion back in interest in funds that never should have been returned to Iran.” He contends it’s money that “Iran [could] use to support terrorist groups like Hezbollah and Hamas, who threaten our greatest ally: Israel. This is unacceptable foreign policy.”

The Lieutenant Governor’s during the campaign has consistently claimed Obama’s concessions to Iran damage America’s position.

“This administration shows the ultimate illusion of toughness. The United States gave Iran $100 billion, as well as relief from the very sanctions that brought them to the table. Iran is working to further develop the ballistic missile technology, and this Administration is delivering nothing more than giving them a slap on the wrist. The Obama Administration continues to send the wrong message to our enemies around the world, and is making our country less safe and secure,” Lopez-Cantera said.
