3rd progressive group echoes call for Debbie Wasserman Schultz to quit DNC post

Debbie Wasserman Schultz

The drumbeat from the left continues for Debbie Wasserman Schultz to step down from her post as chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, this time from the Progressive Democrats of America.

The organization has joined a petition drive by progressive Democratic groups, Roots Action and Credo Action, calling for her to step down.

The Progressive Democrats of America contend, in an email that went out to members and others Monday night, that she has been “lousy at her job which is to get Democrats elected and build the Party,” and has “demonstrated an inability to support democracy and fairness in elections.”

PDA has supported U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders‘ bid for the Democratic presidential nomination and, like some of Wasserman Schultz’s other critics, has raised questions about how she has handled scheduling of presidential debates and other format issues.

“Many believe she allowed her desire to tilt or bias the nomination process to benefit her friend Hillary Clinton superseded her obligation to run a fair process, as well as her commitment to help build the Democratic Party,” PDA stated in its email.

FloridaPolitics.com has asked both the DNC and Wasserman Schultz’s offices for responses and will include them when they arrive.

The DNC has ignored Progressives for a quarter of a century, it’s time to cut off their funding!
