A day after announcing his leadership team headed by Chris LaCivita (the former top strategist for 2004’s Swift Boat Veterans for Truth team), Todd Wilcox has unveiled his statewide finance committee.
“As our campaign continues to build momentum, I am proud to announce these Florida business icons as founding members of our finance team and am honored to have their support,” Wilcox said in a statement. “As a first-time candidate, I recognize that the professional politicians in this race have access to political insiders that give them an advantage. I am the outsider in this race, and that is a label I proudly wear.”
Heading the list is Charles Gray, the chairman and founding director of Gray Robinson, a legal firm with branches across Florida.
Five other men are part of the finance team:
Rick Michaels, who founded the worldwide Tampa-based Communications Equity Associates to provide service to cable industry clients who needed financial expertise.
George Livingston, the founder and chairman of NAI Realvest and Chairman and CEO of Realvest Development and CommerCenters.
Michael Munz, the president of PR and Social Group of the Dalton Agency.
Peter Rummell, a real estate entrepreneur and head of the Rummell Company in Duval County. Rummell is the former chairman of Walt Disney Imagineering, the company’s design and creative division responsible for theme park development.
And Ned Siegel, the former U.S. Ambassador to the Bahamas under President George W. Bush.
The Orlando-based Wilcox is a former Special Forces commander and CIA veteran who announced his candidacy for Florida last summer. He said at the time he hoped to raise about $13 million in the race, where he faces U.S. Reps. David Jolly and Ron DeSantis and Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera.
