A high-profile Tallahassee attorney has endorsed Hillary Clinton.
According to BuzzFeed News, Benjamin Crump, the lawyer who represented the families of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown, is backing Clinton in the presidential race. Crump is expected to talk to South Carolina voters about Clinton’s record, according to Politico.
Crump, according to BuzzFeed News, introduced Clinton at the National Bar Association’s event to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Montgomery Bus Boycott. He is also among civil rights leaders set to meet with Clinton in New York later this month.
In July 2015, he became the 73rd president of the National Bar Association.
Crump was the first African-American president of the Federal Bar Association for the Northern District of Florida, the first African-American chairman of the Florida State University of Law board of directors, and the first African-American chairman of the Tallahassee Utility Commission.
