Marco Rubio made a last-minute push Tuesday to woo New Hampshire voters, telling “Good Morning America” host George Stephanopoulos he gives the Republican Party the best chance of winning in November.
“I give our party the best chance to do three things: to unify, to grow, and to win,” Rubio said during an interview on “Good Morning America.” “Just yesterday, poll comes out and says if I’m the nominee I beat Hillary in New Hampshire. So I think voters understand I’m as qualified and as conservative as anyone in this race but I give us the best chance to win.”
Rubio made his final push to rally support as voters in the Granite State head the polls. He was scheduled to visit four New Hampshire polling places Tuesday morning.
The Florida Republican has taken heat in recent days after his debate performance Saturday. Rubio said he isn’t paying much attention to the criticism, saying people don’t “waste time or money attacking someone who isn’t doing well.”
“We feel very good about our team and the work we’ve done here. I think voters here realize I give the Republican Party the best chance to win,” Rubio said. “I’m as conservative as anybody in this field, but a conservative that has shown the ability to work and get things done across the aisle. Today’s the day, and I’m excited.”
Rubio said he doesn’t know where he will finish in New Hampshire today, but said he is confident “we’re going to finish strong.”
“We feel great about it,” he said.
