After a few slow fundraising months, Byron Donalds was back at it in January, raising nearly five times more than his Republican opponent in the state House District 80 race.

Donalds raised $10,723 in January, according to campaign finance records filed with the Division of Elections. The January fundraising haul came after a slow November and December, where Donalds raised $750 and $150 respectively.

Donalds spent $781 in January. Since March 2015, Donalds has raised $82,228 and spent $13,259.

Donalds faces Republican Joe Davidow in the August primary. Davidow raised $2,325 in January. He spent $1,487 during the one-month fundraising period.

Since June 2016, Davidow has raised $25,604 and spent $5,078.

The two men are battling it out to replace term-limited Matt Hudson.

Democrat John Lundin is also running. He raised no money during the one-month fundraising period.
