Jax City Council to meet Thursday evening after HRO Committee of the Whole

jacksonville - gorgeous

After the Committee of the Whole meeting on Jacksonville’s HRO expansion Thursday, there will  be a special meeting of City Council where both HRO bills can be withdrawn, Council President Greg Anderson said

This is the “same process we put in place” ahead of the establishment of this process, Anderson said. It will allow for a committee report, and will allow for the withdrawal action that bill sponsor Tommy Hazouri has said would happen.

Hazouri has said that the bill will resurface soon. The questions now are of timing and of the process going forward.

Expect advocates to use more traditional lobbyists as they yoke the case for the bill to the business case.

For now, though, it appears the Council Meeting at the end of the Committee of the Whole will be the end of it.
