U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis joined Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera and Florida’s junior U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio in criticizing President Barack Obama‘s Cuba trip, with a brief statement Thursday evening.

“President Obama has made his choice: appease the Castro dictatorship rather than stand with the oppressed Cuban people,” said DeSantis. “The Obama administration has made major unilateral concessions to the Castro regime, yet the regime has responded by increasing political oppression and still harbors one of the FBI’s 10 most wanted terrorists. This embarrassing visit continues to reward the bad behavior of the Castro dictatorship and weakens America’s standing abroad.”
