Marco Rubio says he’s staying in race even if he loses Florida

Marco Rubio says he’s sticking it out, regardless of whether he wins his home state.

“Tomorrow our plan is to be in Utah campaigning irrespective of tonight. It would be a lot better going being the winner of the Florida primary,” said Rubio during an interview with Orlando’s WDBO on Tuesday. “It would give us a tremendous amount of momentum, it will give us 99 delegates, and that’s the way we want to do it tonight.”

According to audio of the interview first posted by BuzzFeed News, Rubio said the polls in Florida “are out of control.”

“They’re crazy, they’re way out of whack, I’m just telling you,” said the Florida senator. “I can’t guarantee a win today. I’m telling you we expect to win tonight, but we are not 20 points behind, and I think we’re going to prove that here in the next few hours.”

Rubio trails Republican front-runner Donald Trump in recent polls of likely Florida Republican primary voters.

Most polls in Florida close at 7 p.m.
