The Republican Party of Florida has thanked Marco Rubio for his years of public service “and all he will continue to do.”
In a statement Tuesday, RPOF Chairman Blaise Ingoglia said Rubio has “faithfully represented Florida from the chambers of the Florida House to the U.S. Congress as our United States Senator.”
“He contributed mindful, substance based arguments and articulated conservative ideals since the start of his presidential bid,” Ingoglia said in a prepared statement.
“His optimistic message and commitment to American exceptionalism has helped keep conservative values in focus for 2016. The Florida GOP is grateful for all he has done for our State and all he will continue to do.”
Rubio bowed out of the 2016 presidential race on Tuesday after Donald Trump defeated him in Florida. Trump is expected to have received about 46 percent of the vote, while Rubio is in second with 27 percent of the ballot.
