Web ad questions financing of Joe Biden campaign trip for Patrick Murphy

unnamed

Last week, Vice President Joe Biden came to South Florida for a campaign fundraiser for Jupiter Democratic Representative and U.S. Senate hopeful Patrick Murphy.

A new digital ad from a super PAC called the Better Florida Alliance is now calling on Murphy to provide details about his reimbursement to taxpayers for the fundraiser.

According to its website, The Better Florida Alliance is “a network of pro-growth Floridians that believe economic freedom is the key to promoting opportunity for Florida families. We are dedicated to educating Florida citizens on the effect of pro-growth economic policies on Florida’s families and support policies that encourage economic freedom and opportunity. Join us, stay connected and get involved.”

The Murphy campaign has acknowledged paying for the expenses of Biden’s March 28 trip but has not specified how much it cost, or where the money came from.

When contacted for comment, Murphy campaign spokesman Joshua Karp forwarded to FloridaPolitics.com the same response he gave the Tampa Bay Times earlier in the day.

“We appreciate the efforts of a Republican dark-money group to raise awareness for Patrick’s strong endorsement from Vice President Joe Biden. They were honored to campaign together in Miami just a few days ago.”

Watch the ad below, which includes some of the B-footage captured rather humorously in an another anti-Murphy Super PAC ad that aired last month.
