Florida DEP launches updated state parks & trails website

FLORIDA STATE PARKS WEBSITE (Medium)

If Florida state parks and trails were not great enough, the state’s improved website at www.floridastateparks.org makes planning a day outdoors even more convenient.

Launched by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, the new website includes enhanced maps and search abilities for specific facilities, activities or events.

With a smartphone and tablet friendly look, as well as a wealth of breathtaking photos of Florida’s natural and historic treasures, visitors will find it easier than even to plan a trip to state parks and designated trails.

From 2013-2014, 27.5 million people visited Florida state parks and trails, according to the DEP. Approximately 130,000 visitors each week visit the website in search of valuable information for excursion planning.

The DEP invites both residents and visitors to use the new website, and encourages sharing the site on all social media platforms with the hashtag #flstateparks.
