Today, Patrick Murphy announced that his campaign raised a milestone $2 million in the first quarter of 2016, and now has over $5.6 million cash on hand.
Over 85 percent of contributions in the first quarter were under $200.
“The support for our campaign, from Pensacola to Key West, keeps growing, and I could not be prouder of the inclusive, grassroots campaign we are building. This support is humbling, and I will keep working every day to win the trust of each and every Floridian,” said Murphy. “The issues at stake in this election could not be more clear. In the Senate, I will fight to protect Social Security and Medicare from efforts to dismantle them, fight for women’s health care, and work to break down the barriers holding our middle class families back.”
“Opening 2016 with this kind of milestone is a sign that our campaign has strong grassroots support across Florida, and will have the resources to win in August and in November,” said Murphy campaign manager Josh Wolf.
In total, Murphy has raised nearly $8.2 million – more than any other candidate in the race.
