Matt Gaetz, Alan Williams to "duel" for pet charity

RDBD FINAL for social media 1

A pair of Florida legislative leaders will be taking a break from official business to act as “dueling celebrity bartenders” for charity Wednesday at a Tallahassee fundraiser.

It’s the inaugural Red Dog/Blue Dog Bipartisan Celebrity Bartender event, beginning 6:30 p.m. at Madison Social in Tallahassee.

Until 8 p.m., Fort Walton Beach Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz and Democratic Rep. Alan Williams of Tallahassee will tend bar, competing for tips. The pair will work cash registers, and mix and serve drinks.

Proceeds for the event go to animal advocacy nonprofits in the Tallahassee-Leon County area by way of the Animal Shelter Foundation. The money will go toward helping homeless pets.

Madison Social is at 705 S. Woodward Ave., No. 101 in Tallahassee. For information, call (850) 894-6276.
