Florida Democratic Party sends “voter alert” to Jax Dems

A letter from the Florida Democratic Party on Monday reminded voters to get on the stick abut casting their ballot.

“It has come to our attention that you have NOT YET REQUESTED your ballot for the upcoming runoff election” in Jacksonville, the letter reads.

Luckily, it’s not too late. The enclosed postage-paid envelope is pre-addressed to the Duval County supervisor of elections, as is a mostly completed absentee ballot application (except for DOB and signature).

“Who you vote for is private, but whether or not you vote is public record. Given your past history of voting, we are sure that public records will show you voted again in this election.”

The tone of the letter is remarkably authoritative.

As of 4:30 p.m. Monday, 297 of 516 absentee ballots have been cast by Republicans. Perhaps the letter will help to turn the tide.
