Democrat Susannah Randolph has picked up another endorsement in her bid for Florida’s 9th Congressional District, this one from Democratic U.S. Rep. Jerrold Nadler of New York.

Nadler serves as vice-chair of the House of Representatives LGBT Equality Caucus, and is the second-highest-ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee.

“Susannah has worked tirelessly to safeguard the rights of all citizens while promoting fairness and justice,” Nadler stated in a news release issued Wednesday by Randolph’s campaign. “In Congress, Susannah will continue to take on special interests to uphold our civil justice system and preserve the rights of all Americans. I look forward to working with her.”

Randolph faces state Sen. Darren Soto, Dr. Dena Grayson and Valleri Crabtree in an Aug. 30 Democratic primary. They seek to replace U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson — newlywed husband of candidate Dena Grayson — in the Democrat-leaning district, which covers part of south Orange County, all of Osceola County, and east Polk County.

“Congressman Nadler has been a fearless advocate for equality and civil rights for decades. I’m honored to have his support, particularly on the first day of LGBT Pride Month,” Randolph stated in the release. “I look forward to joining him in Congress, and continuing to fight for justice and equality for all Americans.”
