FL Gubernatorial Candidate Charlie Crist Speaks In West Palm Beach

Charlie Crist is out with a new digital advertisement, just as Rep. David Jolly prepares to announce whether he will run for re-election instead of the Senate.

“The cost of living is more expensive than ever. Social Security and Medicare are under attack. And our students, veterans and environment aren’t priorities anymore,” says Crist in the 30-second spot posted to his Facebook page. “Instead of fixing it, Washington politicians keep talking louder and louder.”

He continues: “Congress should be listening to you, the people. I always have and I always will.”

The race for Florida’s 13th Congressional District could be one of several congressional races to watch this election cycle. Crist is well known in the district, but Pinellas County Republicans have been pushing Jolly for months to run for re-election.

Jolly announced last year he was running for Senate instead of re-election. But as rumors circulated that Marco Rubio was considering running for re-election, so too did speculation that Jolly would run again.

Jolly is expected to formally announce his plans at noon.
