Democrat Dianne Hart has received the endorsement of the Florida Retail Federation PAC in the race for the Florida House District 61 seat.
“As a small business owner and retailer for more than 30 years, Dianne Hart knows how important our industry is to the success of our state, and will do her part to support her fellow retailers statewide,” said FRF President and CEO Randy Miller. “We look forward to the positive impact she will have on Sunshine State business owners in the Florida House.”
Hart is the owner of Ms. Dee’s World of Beauty Salon and Barber Shop in East Tampa. She also serves as CEO of the East Tampa Business and Civic Association, and is committed to a local food initiative in Hillsborough County, as well as focusing on economic development projects.
Hart is running against Tampa attorney Sean Shaw and instructor/activist Walter Lee Smith in the HD 61 race, which encompasses downtown Tampa, Ybor City, and Seminole Heights. The seat, currently held by Democrat Ed Narain, is overwhelmingly Democratic in its composition, making the Aug. 30 primary the de facto general election.
