Marco Rubio leads the Republican field, according to a new Senate Leadership Fund poll.
The survey, conducted by Vox Populi, found 57 percent of respondents said they would vote for Rubio in the Republican primary. Republican Carlos Beruff received 5 percent support; while Todd Wilcox received 4 percent support.
The survey found 34 percent of Republicans said they were undecided.
“These numbers confirm that Marco Rubio is the Democrats’ worst nightmare in their dream of putting this Florida Senate seat in Hillary Clinton’s pocket,” said Steven Law, the president of the Senate Leadership Fund and the former chief of staff to Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, in a statement. “Not only is Rubio a clear favorite in the Republican primary, but the Democrats’ primary is a dogfight between two scandal-tainted politicians, the resume-puffing Patrick Murphy and the unethical hedge fund manager Alan Grayson.”
According to a Senate Leadership Fund poll of Democratic voters, 19 percent said they would support Murphy, while 15 percent said they would support Grayson. Pam Keith received 5 percent support in the survey.
The poll found 62 percent of respondents said they were undecided.
The Senate Leadership Fund is a super PAC that aims to “protect and expand the Republican Senate Majority.”
The Republican poll surveyed 487 registered voters in Florida on June 19 and June 20. It has a margin of error of 4.4 percent. The Democratic poll surveyed 530 registered voters on June 19 and June 20. It has a margin of error of 4.3 percent.
