Curators have begun collecting signs, flags, artwork and photos left behind at several makeshift memorials for the 49 victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando.

Curators from the Orange County Regional History Center started collecting the items on Monday.

Memorials have been left behind at Orlando’s new downtown performing arts center, at the hospital where many patrons were taken and also at the Pulse nightclub.

The Historical Society of Central Florida will preserve the items to remember the victims of the shooting.
