Florida Chamber of Commerce unveils latest round of endorsements

The Florida Chamber of Commerce rolled out another round of endorsements Thursday, picking candidates in 34 races across the state.

The endorsements marked the second round of endorsements issued this election cycle, and are part of the organization’s effort to help elect candidates who support economic growth.

“Now more than ever, we are reminded that Florida is in a position to lead if we are brave enough to choose those who will put Florida’s long-term needs first,” said Marian Johnson, senior vice president of political operations for the Florida Chamber of Commerce. “We believe each Florida Chamber-endorsed candidate will use their unique perspective to help grow jobs and economic opportunity for Floridians, and continue to make Florida the best place to visit, live, work and play.”

In the Florida Senate, the Chamber of Commerce endorsed Republican Doug Broxson in Senate District 1; Republican Keith Perry in SD 8; Republican Dean Asher in SD 13; Democrat Bob Healy, Jr. in SD 18; Republican Dana Young in SD 18; and Democrat Kevin Rader in SD 29.

In the Florida House, the Florida Chamber endorsed Republican Frank White in House District 1; Republican Jayer Williamson in HD 3; Republican Sheri Treadwell in HD 11; Republican Clay Yarborough in HD 12; Republican Dick Kravitz in HD 16; Republican Bobby Payne in HD 19; Republican Chuck Clemons in HD 21; Republican Stanley McClain, Jr. in HD 23; Republican Tom Leek in HD 25; Republican Sam Killebrew in HD 41; Democrat Ricardo Rangel in HD 43; Republican Brian Hodgers in HD 52; Republican Randy Fine in HD 53; Republican Lange Sykes in HD 54; Republican Rebecca Smith in HD 60; Democrat Dianne Hart in HD 61; Democrat Ben Diamond in HD 68; Democrat Wengay Newton, Sr. in HD 70; Republican Alex Miller in HD 72; Republican Joe Gruthers in HD 73; Republican Byron Donalds in HD 80; Democrat David Silvers in HD 87; Democrat Al Jacquet in HD 88; Republican Bob Rommel in HD 106; Democrat Hermant “Hentry” Patel in HD 108; Democrat Nick Duran in HD 112; Republican John Couriel in HD 114; and Republican David Rivera in HD 118.
