Daniel Webster, the GOP representative from the Orlando area who is now running for the GOP nomination in the 11th Congressional District, is up on the air with his televised commercial of the campaign season.
The ad features what Webster says is Washington’s excessive spending ways.
“I am committed to opposing legislation that irresponsibly spends taxpayer money,” Webster says. “I’ve cosponsored a balanced budget amendment and opposed budgets that violate our spending caps. My commitment is to do everything I can to bring our spending to within our revenues.”
The statement issued by the Webster camp says he “rolls back his own salary and trims his office budget,” and doing so has saved taxpayers over $2 million in the past five years.
Webster is running against Justin Grabelle, who served as the chief of staff to current CD 11 Rep. Rich Nugent. Nugent announced last year that he would be stepping down from his seat this November.
The Congressional District 11 is extremely large, including all or parts of Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion and Sumter counties.
