Residents of Pasco County are watching waterways wearily after a thunderstorm soaked an area already soggy from Hurricane Hermine — and officials are telling some residents to evacuate because of the potential for floods.

Emergency officials in Pasco said Saturday that the Anclote River is rising and is expected to reach near major flood stage over the next few days.

EOC Director Kevin Guthrie issued a mandatory evacuation order Saturday for residents in one apartment complex, one mobile home park and in a few neighborhoods due to rising water.

Gov. Rick Scott is meeting with Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco and emergency management officials to discuss flooding response and safety efforts
