Brian Mast is asking Treasure Coast voters to give him another chance at service.
Mast released a new TV ad Thursday, telling voters, if elected, he would serve Florida’s 18th Congressional District “selflessly, and … with courage.”
A combat veteran, Mast served for 12 years in the U.S. Army. Mast worked as a bomb disposal expert as part of the Joint Special Operations Command. He lost both of his legs during one of his missions.
“As a soldier in Afghanistan, I fought for every single one of you. I never cared about race, color, or if you were a Democrat or Republican, and that’s the same way I’ll fight for you in Congress,” he says in the 30-second spot. “Washington is broken; I know what’s on the line: our environment, our economy, and our national security. Give me the honor of serving you again, and I’ll do it selflessly, and I’ll do it with courage.”
Mast, a Republican, faces Democrat Randy Perkins in the race to replace Rep. Patrick Murphy.
