AFL-CIO takes aim at Marco Rubio with new mailers

The AFL-CIO mailed out nearly 60,000 direct mail pieces to union members and their families Monday, taking Florida Sen. Marco Rubio to task for what they allege was “putting his personal ambitions and the interests of CEO’s ahead of Florida families.”

Buttressing those charges, the venerable labor organization calls out Rubio in a press release for three specific transgressions, in their eyes. They are:

1) “undercutting workers’ right to negotiate for higher wages and to pit workers against each other,”

2) “pushing through the Trans-Pacific Partnership,” the controversial trade pact with 11 other nations which would be the biggest agreement of its type since the North American Free Trade Agreement and

3) “Cutting off unemployment benefits while Florida’s workers were out of a job longer than anyone in America.”
