In the first major poll conducted in Florida since Monday night’s presidential debate, Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump in Florida, 46 to 42 percent.
Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson gets 7 percent, and Green Party candidate Jill Stein gets 1 percent.
The Mason-Dixon Poll of 820 registered Florida voters was conducted from Tuesday through Thursday of this week.
Among independents, Trump continues to lead in the Sunshine State, leading 41 to 33 percent. Johnson gets 19 percent with those identifying themselves as unaffiliated. Stein gets just one percent of that vote.
Clinton has a bigger lead in the Tampa Bay area, leading 47 to 40 percent.
In what the poll labels as “Central Florida” (but doesn’t specify the exact geography), Trump leads 46 to 43 percent.
There continues to be a huge gender gap in the race. Among female voters, Clinton leads Trump 54 to 36 percent. Among men, Trump leads 49 to 37 percent.
Latinos are going for Clinton by a 64 to 29 percent margin. That’s better than President Obama performed with that demographic in 2012, when he won the Hispanic vote over Mitt Romney, 60 percent to 39 percent.
The margin of error was no more than ± 3.5 percentage points.
