Randy Perkins continues to self-fund his congressional campaign, kicking in more than $2 million during the most recent fundraising period.
Campaign finance records filed with the Federal Election Commission show Perkins gave his campaign nearly $2.8 million between Aug. 11 and Sept. 30. The Treasure Coast Democrat has given his campaign more than $5 million since jumping into the race to replace Rep. Patrick Murphy in Florida’s 18th Congressional District.
Perkins has raised more than $6.5 million since October 2015. Records show about 10 percent of that sum, or $686,928, came from individual contributions.

Perkins faces Republican Brian Mast in the Nov. 8 general election. The race is one of the most-watched in this election cycle. The district is considered one of just a few swing districts in the state, and outside groups are pouring millions of dollars into the race.
Records show Mast raised $661,154 between Aug. 11 and Sept. 30. About 30 percent of that sum, or $198,593, came from small donors.
Mast’s campaign spent $420,150 during the same time period. He ended September with $415,490 cash-on-hand.
