FILE - This April 22, 2014 file photo shows musician and humanitarian Jon Bon Jovi during the grand opening of the JBJ Soul Homes in Philadelphia. Jon Bon Jovi will be honored with an award named for an opera singer. The Marian Anderson Award is given in Philadelphia to “critically acclaimed artists who have impacted society in a positive way.” In announcing the recipient Wednesday, July 23, organizers said Bon Jovi has used his musical success to support groups working to end homelessness and hunger. Bon Jovi will accept the $25,000 award on Nov. 18 at the city’s Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. Anderson was a celebrated contralto and Philadelphia native who in 1955 became the first black soloist at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. She died in 1993 at the age of 96. Get ready to rock the vote, St. Petersburg.

Jon Bon Jovi is scheduled to perform during a get out the vote rally at the State Theatre, 687 Central Avenue in St. Petersburg on Saturday. The concert is part of the Hillary Clinton campaign’s “Love Trumps Hate” performance series, and is meant to rally support for Clinton ahead of Tuesday’s election.

Tim Kaine, Clinton’s running mate, is also scheduled to attend the rally. The St. Petersburg event will cap off his two-day swing through the Sunshine State. Kaine attended a rally in Melbourne on Friday, and is scheduled to hold two events in Fort Myers and Sarasota before heading to St. Petersburg.

Tickets were needed to attend the event, and were distributed on a first come, first serve basis. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Jon, very disappointed you are a crooked Hillary supporter. I’ll never buy another ticket to a concert or an album of yours.
