Get your checkbooks ready for this week’s legislative fundraisers

Get your checkbooks ready, PAC chairs and Tallahassee uber-lobbyists, there are a handful of fundraisers for legislative candidates planned for this week, the first committee week in advance of the Legislative Session.

On Tuesday, Oct. 24, Senate President Joe Negron joins Sens. Dorothy Hukill, Dennis Baxley, Jack Latvala, Aaron Bean, Debbie Mayfield, Rob Bradley and others in a fundraiser supporting state Sen. Denise Grimsley in her bid for Agriculture Commissioner. Event begins 5:30 p.m. at the Governors Club Capital Room, 202 S. Adams St. in Tallahassee.

 

At 5 p.m., state Sen. Jeff Brandes also hosts a fundraiser at the Governor’s Club. Brandes, a St. Petersburg Republican, represents Senate District 24.

Also on Tuesday, Democratic State Rep. Matt Willhite and Boynton Beach City Commissioner Joe Casello will be fundraising at the Professional Firefighters Building, 345 W. Madison St., 3rd Floor in Tallahassee. Event begins 5:30 p.m. Willhite is seeking re-election to District 86; Casello is seeking the House District 90 seat currently held by term-limited Democrat Lori Berman.

At 6:30 p.m., Democratic state Sens. Daphne Campbell of North Miami Beach and Darryl Rouson of St. Petersburg will host an event at the Governor’s Club. Rouson represents Senate District 19; Campbell represents SD 38.

On Wednesday, Oct. 25, state Sen. Dennis Baxley will be holding a 5 p.m. event at the Governor’s Club. Baxley, a Lady Lake Republican, represents Senate District 12, which covers parts of Lake and Marion counties.

Also at 5 p.m., state Reps. Dane Eagle and Mike La Rosa will be at the Governors Club. Event begins 5 p.m. Eagle, a Cape Coral Republican, is seeking re-election to House District 77. La Rosa, a St. Cloud Republican, is seeking another term in House District 42.
