Former Pinellas County Commissioner Neil Brickfield is endorsing St. Petersburg based attorney Jeremy Bailie in the House District 69 race next year.
Bailie is one of three Republicans entering the contest to succeed Republican Kathleen Peters in the Pinellas County-based seat. Instead of re-election, Peters has opted to run for a seat on the Pinellas County Commission in 2018.
“I have seen first-hand [the] dedication that Jeremy brings to everything that he does,” Brickfield said. “For many, community service starts once they seek public office, but Jeremy is the one who has shown a dedication to the community, a willingness to sacrifice to help those less fortunate, and gives of himself to make a difference in the community long before he decided to run for office.”
The former Pinellas Commission went on to specifically cite Bailie’s work with the Drug-Free America Foundation and St. Pete Bar Foundation as examples of his community service.
Raymond Blacklidge and Christopher Licata III are also running in the GOP primary for HD 69 next August.
In terms of fundraising, Blacklidge continues to lead the pact, having raised over $66,000 since entering the contest in June.
Bailie has raised a total of $22,309 in his first two months as a candidate, while Licata has taken in only $645.
Democrat Jennifer Webb, who lost to Peters last year in the HD 69 race by 14 points, filed to run again for the seat earlier this month.
