Orlando entrepreneur Harold Mills will chair a new statewide campaign committee for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Chris King, a unit that also will feature Linda Chapin and state Rep. Nicholas Duran.
King’s campaign, which began operation more than a year ago, announced the formation of a state leadership committee Monday that would raise money, represent the campaign, advise, and help engage and mobilize support.
Mills, who built ZeroChaos into a multi-billion dollar, global company, Florida’s largest minority-owned business and one of America’s top 3 black-owned businesses, will serve as state chairman.
Former Orange County Chair Chapin; the Rev. Bishop Allen T.D. Wiggins of The Hope Church of Orlando; Shannon del Prado, past president of the Miami-Dade Trial Lawyers Association; Skip Pita, a South Florida lawyer who is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum; and Duran, the Democratic state representative from Miami, will serve as state vice-chairs.
Russ Prather, a medical doctor who is a managing member of Prather Properties, will serve as state finance chair.
Najam Usami, founder of Champ Camp and a successful businessman from Charlotte, N.C., who has been an active fundraiser for Democratic candidates nationwide, will serve as national vice-chair.
Alejandro Longoria, previously managing director in the Chicago office of Guggenheim Partners, will serve as national finance chair.
